RAYMOND C. YARD, PRES.
HENRY J. HAUCK, SECY. AND TREAS. RAYMOND C. YARD, INC. J E-W EL E RS McCUTCHEON BUILDING, SUITE 802 607 FIFTH AVENUE NEW YORK 17, N. Y. March 16, 1949 Mrs. Daniel W. Kempner, 2504 Avenue 0; Galveston, Texas My dear Mrs. Kempner: We are in receipt of your letter of March 10th, also the gold cigarette case and as you state, Mr. Kempner did speak to the writer when in New York about keeping the cost down as much as possible. This we did do and the charge made was mostly for labor. We found it was necessary to use gold loops as if we attempted to use anything but gold and gold solder we would have burned through the case and ruined it. We will now adjust the hinge so that the case will only open three-quarters of the way and will stand up as a frame and for this there will be no charge. Sincerely yours, WAK: k /
