Young Homemakers Program
The Stephenville Chapter of
the Young Homemakers held a
meeting Aug. 11, in the Frey
Room of the Farmer’s Bank.
Mrs, Mary Moore, retired
Area IV Consultant, gave the
program. Her topic included the
history of the oirganiyatinn its
purposes, and the advantages
of membership It is interesting
to note that the State Associat-
ion of the Young Homemakers
of Texas had its beginning in
November, 1991, when a group
of young women in Comanche
met with local homemaking
teachers to explore the possibil-
ity of forming an organization.
About Lhe same time a similar
group met in Lockney and as
a result of the interest of there
two groups, the State Associa-
tion was formed Mrs. Moore
had an important part in the

Young Homemakers of Texas
Is the home and family and the
understanding and improvement
of both through gaining new
knowledge and developing new
methods and skills. The Young
Homemakers stress the import-
ance of maintaining high ideals
and spiritual values tn all phase
of home and family life.
The local chapter was honored
by the attendance of several
guesta at this meeting. They in-
cluded Mrs. Wanda Cleveland,
State Vice President of the
Young Homemakers from Iowa
Park, Mrs. Doris Joiner, Im-

the Young Homemakers, from
