be dependent on several factors,
but an ctmomie evaluation will
be of prime consideration.
Stewart discussed with the
sponsors some additional things
which they need to do trf secure
a planning priority. He told
them that the State Board
would decide early in 1967. on
some five to seven watersheds
in Texas that would be selected
for early planning. He said that
land treatment measures car-
ried out by landowners would
be an important item in the
selection of these watersheds.
Local sponsors of the Paluxy
program are the Commission-
ers Court of Erath, Hood, and
Somervell Counties, and the
Bosque and Hood-Parker Con-
servation Districts.
Present at the meeting was
Roy Fallin representing Erath
County and Supervisors J. F.
Wade of Hico and Mac McConal
of Glen Rose representing the
Bosque Board in addition to
James Watson. Representatives
of Hood and Somervell County
Courts were also present to r-
ceive the favorable report.
Jack English, chairman of th
Paluxy Watershed, was elated
at the report of the inspecting
team. He said, “Although we
have a lot of work to do, we are
going to work hard to secure
an early priority for plamung.
We have had a lot of dimage
in the past, and we want to
stop it as soon as possible.”
