The 23rd Founder’s Dinner, to
benefit King’s Manor Methodist
Home, is planned at 7 p.m. Thursday
in the Lamar Room of the home.
Dr. Clifford Trotter will be deliver-
ing the keynote address and Jim Con-
kwright, director of development of
the Manor, will also speak. Enter-
tainment will be provided by Susie
Merrick.
Any person 21 years of age who at-
tends the annual founder’s program
at King’s Manor or who signs an ap-
plication for membership with any
gift of $25 or more shall be a member
of Founders. Membership is held
under one of the following ways:
memorial founder, $10,000 and over;
life membership, $1,000 and over;
sustaining membership, $25 and
over; and annual membership, $25.

Buddy poppy sales will be con-
ducted locally Thursday in honor of
Veteran’s Day, which is Friday.
The VFW 1-adies Auxiliary to Roy
Wederbrook Post No. 4818 will sell
the commemorative poppies as a
tribute to U.S. war veterans. Aux-
iliary members will offer the poppies
at local merchants, banks, and other
locations Thursday beginning at 9
a.m.

Perfecting technique
In preparation for the Annual Country Christmas
Bazaar set from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday at the
Hereford Community center, Kathie Kerr is practicing
her face painting technique on son Christopher’s face.
Also during the benefit which is being sponsored by
members of Westway Extension Homemakers Club,
members of Alpha Iota Mu Chpter of Beta Sigma Phi
Sorority will be selling stuffed baked potatoes. A varie-
ty of handcrafted items, including padded photo
albums, T-shirts, wooden puzzles, toys, etc., will be
featured at the bazaar. All proceeds raised from the
benefit will be donated to the 4-H Parent Leaders
Association to assist with various local 4-H projects.
