group will perform from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. Monday in the Fiesta
Room of Loftin Student Center.
The office of student life had no
information about the group
except performance times.
In Black History Month activi-
ties this week, the Rev. Kyev
Tatum encouraged students to
help educate future generations
about the importance of working
together.
"If we don't move beyond the
cultural differences, we won't get
to a point where we can educate
each other," the president of the
Texas Hill Country Branch of the
National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People
said after his presentation.
"You have to do something big-
ger than yourself to help other
people," Tatum said.

Need help finding a job?
Stop by the job placement program in Balditt Counseling Center
on the first floor of Moody Learning Center and find out how you
can get a job with the skills you already have.
The job placement program, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-
Friday, offers free services to students seeking jobs and for employ-
ers looking for new employees, Coordinator Jesse Sanchez said.
The center will assist students in preparing a resume for jobs and
internships, Sanchez said.
Sanchez recommends that students submit their resumes on the
program's Web site, which is linked to JobDirect.com.
JobDirect.com is a Web site that displays resumes for employers
to browse. The job placement Web site is at www.accd.edu/sac/stu-
dents/jpp.htm.
After students submit resumes to the placement program,
Sanchez reviews them and calls or e-mails the students.
He and each student who signs up will look through the Web site
and do a search for the kind of employment the student is looking
for.
For students seeking information about employers, many
employers have a hyperlink from the job placement Web site that
allows the student to go straight to the company's Web site, he said.
The placement program can fax cover, reference and follow-up
letters to employers for free, and it sponsors interviews on campus
with employers looking for full-time and part-time employees.
Two amusements parks will be interviewing this week.
Fiesta Texas will be on campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday
in Loftin Student Center. Schlitterbahn will be on campus from 9
a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23 in Loftin Student Center.

hour earlier than publicized
Monday because of changes in
Tatum's schedule, said Judi Clark,
secretary of student life.
In another schedule change, the
Anike Dance Ensemble also per-
formed on Monday in the Fiesta
Room after Tatum's presentation.
About 35 students attended the
presentation while many stood
outside the Fiesta Room to watch
the dance activities.
The group was asked to per-
form during Black History Month
events but was not confirmed
with student activities until
Monday, Clark said.
Tatum joined students to dance
with the traditional African
dances and drum cadences.
During dances, the group
discussed the importance of
being exposed to different cul-
tures and educating future
generations.
"We do this because it is almost
absolutely necessary for us to con-
tinue on the culture," dancer
Andrea Wilson said. "We have to
help our young people under-
stand that being African is not
wrong."
