The intramural Frisbee golf tournament will be

it would be open for walk-ups until noon Monday.
Participants must be students with a valid ID.
The first-place winner will receive a SAC intra-

Cancel Miranda will speak about the history of
Puerto Rico at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Esperanza
Center, 922 San Pedro Ave.
Miranda is best known for unfurling a Puerto
Rican flag and shooting a gun into the air in the
halls of the U.S. Congress as a protest in 1954.
Miranda was asking for Puerto Rican inde-
pendence from the United States.
Because of his action, he was charged with

Sentenced to 84 years in prison, Miranda was
pardoned by President Jimmy Carter after serving

hammed Al-Fayez was announced the winner of
the intramural pingpong tournament Monday.
Al-Fayez topped 14 other players for the sec-
ond consecutive semester and received a T-shirt
and a medal.
Al-Fayez is from Kuwait City, Kuwait, where
he played in a national pingpong league. «

Al-Tamimi placed second. Al-Tamimi is from
Doha, Qatar.
Tine tournament did not quite go as scheduled
this semester. The event was to begin Feb. 7 and
continue through Feb. 9.
Recreational sports coordinator Trisha Patten
said 15 participants played on the first day.
No new players showed up on the second day,
and two games were scheduled for the last day.
But only two people showed up, so only one game
could be played.
Patten said this is why she ended the tourna-
ment Monday.
