of plug, a kind of swap in return
for Miss Novak's appearance.
On the "Playrights 56," pro-
gram of May 6, "You Sometimes
get Rich," another jdd assort-
ment was plugged including a
book publisher, a scandal maga-
zine, a film studio, a TV rating
service, a theatrical trade paper,
a weekly picture magazine and
for no apparent reason, a person
named Jayae Mansfield.
May Just See Product
The plugmen work with writers,
stars, producers, set designers,
almost anyone who can slip in a
mention jf a product. It doesn't
have to be done with an actual
verbal mention—some of the slick-
est plugs are inserted visually.
For sample, the camera might
be used whose shape would in
stantly be recognised by the view-
er.
The plugmen sometimes pay
pretty well for this sort of thing,
I but often enjugh those who insert
i the plugs do it pretty cheaply—
I a case of Scotch can sometimes
, swing the deal.
