Mr* Zuber stated that this SPECIAL meeting was called to
consider the appointment of such special committees as were needed
for the proper functioning of the forthcoming High Holidays, and to
consider any other special matters which might come before it.
Th® most important committee was that of the Ushers Committee.
The Chairman appointed Mr. Sam Rosenberg as Chairman of this Ctamittee
and charged him with the selection of competent men to assist and cooperate
with him in the performace of usher’s duties. He made this appointment
due to the fact that Mr* Rosenberg had very satisfactorily carried out
similar duties in the past. In view of Mr. Rosenberg’s ash absence from
this meeting he would be properly notified by the Chairman.

The third committee to be appointed was that of the Door Committee
the members of which would have to display good sense and judgment.
Appointment of Mr. Max Lewis,wKsxmjcnH as Chairman, was made to be assisted
by Mr* Seymour Nathan and Harry S. Kaplan. This Committee would cooperate
with the Ticket Committee at the doors. The Chairman disagreed with a
suggestion to rope off the vestibule and it was decided not to do so on
this occasion*
A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Congregation
Adath Yeshurun was held on September 4th, 1934, in the Hebrew Institute
Building, 917 Jackson Street, Houston, Texas.
The next Committee to be appointed was the Ticket Committee,
whose functions were to assist in the final disposition of last minute
tickets at the door and other allied duties. This Committee was to
consist of Mr. Zuber, Mr. Streusand and Mr. Susholtz. It was stated
that Mr. Goldapper would be on hand at the door to assist whenever
so required.
The meeting was opened by Mr. J.L. Zuber,
when the roll was called, indicating the following members present:
