B.Y.O.P... bring your own pump-
kin that is. Many Fellowship of
Christian Athlete (FCA) members
were wondering just exactly what the
FCA officers were up to when they
saw the jack-o-lantems around school
displaying this message. The mem-
bers’ questions were answered on
Sunday, October 24, when they came
pumpkin-toting to the park.
Captain Vivian Jones opened up
with a prayer, and then Co-Captain
Amanda Randle set the “pumpkin-
themed” meeting by explaining how
God uses us as his pumpkins. He
picks us from his patch, brings us in,
and washes the dirt off of us. He then
cleans out all the yucky stuff in our
lives such as greed, hate, and jealousy,
and then puts a smiling face on us.
God finally puts a light inside of our
smiling faces to share with the entire
world.
What happened to the pumpkins that
everyone brought? The FCA mem-
bers used their smiling faces to deco-
rate their pumpkins for a pumpkin-
carving contest. Awards were given to
