Elco Feeds have
done it again !
Milton Lippert’s “Shorty,” entered in the fat
steer class under 750 pounds, not only won in its class,
but was adjudged grand champion beef calf of any
breed produced by 4-H Club Boys or FFA boys.
This calf was fed exclusively on Elco Feeds, in-
cluding Super-Valu Horse and Mule Feed and Steer
Fattener. » . . x ,
We congratulate this Washington county boy on
his continued success in raising champions.
What this scientific young cattle raiser has done,
you can do, too, if you switch to
ELCO Feeds
Let us advise you on the proper feed rations for
’greater profit.

During this fire ^prevention
week, it was my desire to secure
a few facts relative to the oldest
fire engine in America, the great-
est fire in American history, ami
the first fireproof^construction in
America.
To my amaiement, I found that
the’oldest fire engine in America
was built in London in 1898 and
brought to Bethlehem,, Pa., In
1763 What experience's rt could
relate today!
It was intimately associated
with the firefighting forces in the •
old world and the new, and wit-
nesseil the -birth of fire insurance
as an economical national neces-
sity. If this old engine could talk
, it wculd urge you to lie careful
with fire in your home.
Sodom am! Gomorrah, Troy,
j Rome and London had their con-
' flagrations, but none equalled that
' which followed the earthquake of
1906. tn San Francisco, i
* $350,000,000—and viped* but fid
years' work in a day.
We* -Americans iniM-t build,
; soundly to resist fire, exercise care
to prevent it, and thus safeguard
| life and property.
