.One of the highlights of the
battle was furnished by Kruger
of the Cub backfield, as be threw
a vicious block into the defend-
ing left halfback on the second
touchdown jaunt tjy Quebe. This
key block cleared the .way to the
goal, affd^'gave the Brenhamttes
their thirteenth point-
Brenham’s first touchdown was
scored early in the first quarter,
as Haddox received a 67 yard
quick kick from the toe of Quebe,
filmbled when hit very hard by
Kochwelp, and the Cubs recovered
on the Rattler $0. Bredthauer
picked up 3 over center, and Drey-
er drove for 2 over guard. On the
next play, Quebe started wide to
his right, cut back inside of end,
was hit by two secondary men.
but shook them off and crossed
the goal line standing up. Quebe
powered over guard for the point
after touchdown, and Brenham led 1
7 to 0. ’
The Cubs scored their other tal-
ly on a sustained drive of 44 yards,
which was climaxed by a 26 yard
sprint by Quebe around end to
pay dirt. The Cuba afforded good
^locking, with Weldon Kruger
taking out the last man between
Quebe and the goal line with a
beautiful block. Quebe tried the
line again for point, but was
stopped a yard short.
Quebe went over the goal again
on the first play of the fourth
quarter, but it was called back and
the Cubs penalized 5 yards for
offside. The Cubs worked the ball
back to the 1, when Kochwelp
made a great catch hf Bred-
thauer's heave, but Quebe \^s
stopped four times at the line, and
the Rattlers took over. Dumb-
quaterbacking figured in the Cubs’
failure to score.

KIDNEYS
O Backache, loaa of pep. getting up nights,

more than improper kidney .action due to
excess acid in the urine. Kidneys are one

kidneys and bladder a good flushing out1
by taking Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp Root. It
works on the kidneys to flush them out,
increasing the flow of urine to help relieve
that excess acidity and esse that burning

Quebe played a pang up defensive
game, and in the punting depart-
ment sent four kicks sailing for a
48.5 yard average.
Coach Owen Ereksorw-got ex-
ceptional line play from his club,
which was led by Kochwelp, Kin-
sey, and Malak. All three were -
stalwarts on defense, with Malak
doing thq best bit of blocking.
Kochwelp played possibly his best
of the season, snd was a pain in
the neck to Navasota safety men,
as he went down fast on punts,
and took care of everything com-
ing his way ,b<jth to the inside and
outside. Kinsey anchored down
the left side, And was all over the
field doing hin work on defense.
Captain Malak, one of the best
guards ever \o wear a green and
White uniform, held <&owh the
middle, and administered some key
blocks in the Brenham running
game.
Along with Quebe in the Cub
backfield. Bredthauer and Dreyer
both lent a hand in the running
chores. Dreyer took care of the.
wide stuff to his side, and played
a bang-up game defensively again-
st passes, intercepting one of the
tosses deep in Rattler territory.
B'red Bredthauer, playing the
man-up-under in the Cub "T”
formation, and the boy who makes
it click, handled the ball nicely
on his handoffs through the line,
and scampered back with a pair of
punts for 38 yards.
J. C. Eldred, who has been fav-
oring an injured ankle for the
past two weeks, played in spots,
and reeled off% pair of 14 yard

scores. „
