On Thursday, the nominating

Norris challenged Newton to
meet him in debate tonight at the

Newton addressed the conven-

MEYER-HARMS
NUPTIALS HELD
The marriage of Miss Gertrude
Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Meyer of Kuykendall, and
Ernest Harms, son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Harms of Brenham,
was solemnized on Nov. 2 at the
St. Matthew Lutheran church at
Sandy Hill at 2:30 in the after-
noon. The Rev. W. C. Poehlmann
read the dbube ring ceremony.
The church was decorated with
woodwardia fern, white chrysan-
themums and gladioli.
Will Spross, orgUnist, played the
wedding march for the bride and
grpom to enter together. The bride
was beautifully attired in white
bridal satin, with calla sleeves
tapering to points over the hands,
fitted bodice and sweetheart neck-
line. Full length lace panels dec-
orated the skirt, which flowed in
a wide court train. Her fingertip
veil, bordered with lace, was
caught to a tiara of tiny seed
pearls. She carried a boquet of
orchids and stephanotis. Her
jewelry was a triple strand of
pearls, gift of the groom. ‘
Mrs. l^elvin L. Lorenz and Miss
Ethel Meyer, sisters of the bride,
served as matron of honor, and
bridesmaid. They were gowned in
dresses of identical design, made
of peach and turquoise brocade.
Their flowers were asters.
Little Janice Pearl Randermann
was flower girl. Her dress was of
blue . brocade. She carried a bas-
ket of matching brocade, filled
with flower pedals. Billy Gene
Schwettmann, ring bearer, carried
the rings on a heart shaped pil-
low, edged with lace.
Melvin L. Lorenz, brother-in-
.law of the bride,, served as 'best
man, and Bennie Grabarschick was
the groomsman. Ushers were John-
nie Grabarschick and Otto Grabar-
schick. , *■ ,-

The group in favor of removing
Frazer from the Amarillo audi-
torium won. At least ten men bodi-
ly removed him, but not without
a struggle. A motion was shouted
from the floor asking newspaper
photographers to leave and they
did shortly afterwards.
Dr. Basset said later that he re-
fused to recognize Frazer because
he was not a member of the con-
vention.
