Two ’ trucke filled with troops
of the Tnn*-Jordan Frontier
Force were passing the Jewish
quarter of Jerusalem when snipers
fired upon them. The troops in the
trucks returned th* fire and a
hand grenade thrown into the sec-
ond truck wounded two Trans-
Jordan soldiers.
The Jewish attack is believed to
have been in retaliation for the
battle near the city of Ramleh yes-
terday in which 14 Jews were
killed
It is the first time the unde-
clared Arab-Jewiah warfare has
involved non-Paleatine Arabs.
The British-trained Trans-Jor-
don forces went to Palestine on
police duly. It is feared the Jewish
attack this morning may provoke
King Abdullah of Transjordan to
take a stand against the Jews of
Palestine.
