The greatest array of cowboy as children were able to
play outside with the many toys
that Santa so generously left for
them.
It was one of the Merriest
Christmases ever and stores were
left with almost bare shelves fol-
lowing the rush this week and
last, as clear, spring-like weather
prevailed.
And. with families united—
many for the first time in six
years—dining tables groaned un-
der the abundance of typical
.Christmas foods which were ser-
aived. There were plenty of tur-
I keys and chickens to make most:
people of this locality wish they
hadn't eaten quite so much.
But tire day was mostly for the
children. With toys hack on the
market in great numbers, most
[of the smaller tots had their first
, taste of the many things that go
ifo make them look forward eager-
[ ly to the day each year. Some of
[ the bigger toys were scarce and
hard to find, but surprisingly
most families managed to find
[ tricycles, bicycles, wagons and
[other playthings which have been
missing the last several years.
It was a quiet Christmas as far
as public gatherings and loud cel-
! ebrations are concerned, but it
[ was a Christmas that will live jr
the memories of all—a Christmas
w'hen "Peace on earth, good will
■ to men” was the keynote.

The quietest Christmas
years—that is the way law en-

There were no accidents re-

few drunks, officers said, and
there were no pressing cases
on the dockets of the justice of
