INTERFERENCE WITH FIRE
FIGHTING WITHIN CITY OF ,
CUERO PROVIDING PENALTY
FOR VIOLATION; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT THEREWITH AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CUERO, TEXAS.
Section 1. It shall be unlawful
for any person to step upon or to
frtve any vehicle upon or across,
any firr hose of the fire department
ol the City of Cuero, while such
hoee is being used in fighting fire,
while lying in the street, sidewalk or
private property, whether it is under
water pressure or not, or while
drained, or while being used for
practice purposes.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for
any person or persons to interfere
m any manner with the firemen of
the City while such firemen are en

Section 3. It shall be unlawful for
any person to drive or operate any
i vehicle upon the streets and alleys
of this City for a period of five min-
utes after the sounding ci the fire
alarm, which alarm is the official
siren of the City. At the sounding
of the fire alarm, all persons driv-
ing or operating vehicles on the
streets, alleys or other public thor-
oughfares of the City shall imme-
diately drive such vehicles to the!
right-hand curb and keep such ve- j

Section 4. It shall be unlawful i
for any person to park any motor1
vehicle within fifteen (15) feet of
any fire hydrant^
Section 5.
alarm is sounded, the conductor, or
in his absence, the engineer ot any
railway train which may be standing
or moving across any railway grade
crossing which is in the path of the
fire apparatus en route to such fire
shall Immediately remove, or’cause
to be removed, said train from said
grade crossing and keep said cross-
ing open and free for vehicular
passage fbr a period of at least five
minutes after said fire alarm shall
begin to sound. ’ '
Section 6. No person shall know-
ingly give or make a false alarm
of fire within the corporate limits of
the City of Cuero.
Section 7. Any person violating
any of the terms/of this ordinance
shall, upon con Wet ion thereof, be
deemed guilty of misdemeanor, and
be fined in any sum not exceeding
one hundred ($100.00) dollars.
Section 8. All ordinances or parts
of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 9. In view of the fact
that this ordinance is necessary for
the immediate protection and pres-
ervation of the public health, safty
and general welfare, it becames nec-
essary that this ordinance shall be
‘n full force and effect immediately
from and after its passage and it is
accordingly so ordained.
