IT’S AT THE YARD OF THE
Every time I come to town
I have to lift an old gate aroun’;
It makes no difference if the fence is down
I gotta keep draggin’ that gate aroun’.
Well, the next lime I go to town
I’m going to take ajlittle walkjaroun*
An’ see that gate won’t sag down—
I’m gonna quit kickin’ old gates aroun’.

much good was accomplished. Among
other things the Texas Congressman
have agreed to have a board of re-
view appointed to go over the entire
intercoastal canal from the Mississip-
pi to the Rio Grande and recommends
this project as a whoh-, which means
that the entire project will be put
through under a systematic plan, and
that it will no longer ho necessary to
I work section by section until tlie en-
tire? project is completed.
Mr. Holland also advocated while, in
Washington the redistrlcting of the
state in such a way as to give' us at
least one more Congressman, whose'
district shall reach the gulf, as it will
mean just one more1 stremg worker
who will be personally Interested in
the- development of our waterways.
This sentiment met witli no opposition
i among the Congressmen at Washing-
j ton to tie' knowledge of Mr. Holland,
(and he is hopeful that the state legisla-
ture' will carefully consider this mat-
ter in the* redistrlcting bill. Many of I
the legislators have already express-
's! themselves favorably along these
line's, ami he? hopes that the members
may see the necessity for its careful
consideration Mr. Holland says that
I the work of the Interstate' Inland Wa-
terway Leagues will continue unabat-
ed until nine feet depth and 100 feet
width at bottom shall be obtained from
tlie Mississippi to the Rio Grande.
