THE BIG UNION REVIVAL MEETING.
I CHRIS HAN PEOPLE OF BA1! CII\ are very much m earnest about the Ham-Ramsey levival meeting to commence in the Baptist
* I abernacle on 1 hursday, January 9th. I here is every indication and promise that it is going to be the greatest meeting Bay City has ever had.
I he evangelists have had their ministry more signally and wonderfully honoied of God than any others who have ever labored with us.
( hurches are making greater preparations than ever before. At this early date, ten days before the opening service, the people have commenced
paration for the great work ahead of them by nightly union meetings of prayer and supi ’
spiritual fire and equipping themselves for effedive service in behalf ot the unsaved. I I
fruitful revival must be prayed down rather than worked up. The Christian who is failing to attend these nightly prayer meeting i
a great spiritual refreshing. Put on your harness, brethern, and get into the team. Eor this is going to be, and is a
of our people. It is backed by the leading people of every walk of life—bankers, merchants, professional men, public officials, mechanics, laboring
and the good women of all callings and Nations.
Let every true Soldier of the Cross line up for service. This is no time for skulkers. A great battle is impending and victory is already assured.
No follower of the Captain of Our Host can afford not to have a part in it. To your tents, O Israel!
We have everything to encourage us. Just as in the days when our Lord made his advent into the world, the whole world was in a state of ex-
pectancy; so now there is universal expectation that 1913 will push the conquest of the world for Christ further than any year in all the past I he Lord
has wrought wonders in China, inTurkey and in the uttermost parts of the earth; and the time seems ripe for the lull fruition of the wonderful Students
Volunteer movement, the Layman's Missionary movement and the marvelous Men and Religion movement. I he cumulative effect of these mighty forces,
like the confluence of the waters of the fifty-seven tributaries of the Mississippi, is bound to sweep everything before it when they reach the lloodlide ol
their united power in the commoe stream. They will reach it in 1913.
Brother: Sister: Throw your might into the conflict, and reap your share of the honor of victory .J

1913, yah, yah, yah! it takes young-
sters of that crowd to give a hearty
welcome to the New Year and they
were certainly very cordial in “open-
ing speeches.” May the year be as
bright and joyful to them in the end
as it is in the beginning. They scat-
tered to their various homes before
tile year was one hour old, all thank-
ing Mrs, Reynolds for a happy eve-
ning.
Mrs. M. A. Jones of Dayton, Texas,
Is in town visiting her son and daugh-
ter, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Roote.
Do you know that there are more
people in bay City than can find
shelter, or do you know that men of-
ten have very serious trouble in find-
ing a bed in this beautiful Bay City?
Such is the case. People are begging
to become citizens of our town. Be
proud of our city and our city will bo
proud of us.
Let’s al) start in this beautiful 1913
with a resolve to try to be kind. If
we can’t say something kind and help*
ful to and for our neighbor and friend,
then just smile and pass on. The
world will be better and we will be
happier. Be kind and smile!
Mr. Louis LeTulle began his duties
as cashier of the Bay City Bank and
Trust Company today.
Owners of homes, who have spare
rooms, should enter into the idea of
accommodating our visitors and pros-
pectors and phone the number you
can accommodate to Mr. B. E. Norvell
at the Bay City Realty Co’s, office.
Horace Millican spent yesterday in
Blessing on business.
Luther Massey of Markham was u
