act drama entitled A Fisherman's
Luck" wtis preseiiled by a caste i
posed entirely of local talent,
play was rephde with dramatic
maxes as well as many that were
amusing and laughable and was enjoy-
ed throughout by a large ami and ap
preciative audience. .Miss Virginia
| Jones, the popular primary teacher cJ
Markham's public schools, was tho di-
rector of the play and her purpose
in getting it. up was to raise funds with
which to start a school library.
The play was a hucc"hs from start
to finish and as an evidence of appro
ciatidn on the part of the audience

of beautiful roses were handed to the
ladies. About $10.00 was realized and
