To the Editor:—Readers of the Silk

I managed to get my two children to
oat well toasted entire wheat bread.
They dlways insisted on having soft
white bread, and as«l was anxious for
them to eat largely entire wheat
toaast, because it was not only health-
ful but beneficial for their teeth, I
conceived the idea of getting an elec-
tric toaster and allowed the children
to take turns preparing the toast at
the table. They quickly learned to
make delicious toast, and this not only •
solved my problem regarding them, but
relieved me of this work.
Since getting the toast habit, I find
we never have stale crackers or waf-
ers left on our hands, as these, too,
find their way to the toaster for crisp-

The public and this means you and
me—pays the lighting company for
electricity, but what we use is light,
heat or power, and the light and power
company is doing everything it can
to see that we get the greatest value
in light, heat or power from the elec-
tricity we buy.
Every necessity of life costs more
today than it did five years ago—ev-
erything but electricity. Electricity
costs about the same per kilowatt
hour (which is the electrical man’s
unit or measure, just as yard is the
dry goods man’s unit, or a ton the coal
men’s unit), but today we get prac-
tically twice as much light for every
unit of electrical energy as we did
.five years ago.
The electric company has its faults,
that electric chug of the washing ma-
chine, with no hard hand rubbing for
any one backed also by the knowl-
edge that clothes will ast longer.
How comfortable to sit and sew by
the hour without the strain and worry
of that tiresome tread, tread, tread
of running a sewing machine.
And expense. Any live. “Electric"

surprised and delighted to learn how
eheap electricity is. And only those
women who use it realize how much

There is one thing for which the
electrical industry deserves a
credit, and that is, teaching the pub-

The coal man doesn't send a man

The grocer doesn't instruct you in

The butcher doesn't explain how to

everything within reason to educate
the public in the economical use of
electricity for light, beat and power.

Vacuum Cleaning Is proper cleaning. It’s cleaning that gets all the dirt without spreading it. The only
problem about vacuum cleaning is tho proper machine. The Frantz-Premier was designed by men who know
exactly what a home cleaner should be light, strong, easy to use, absolutely efficient, always ready, simple
in construction and low in cost. The Frantz-Premier is designed for daily sweeping. It displaces all other car-
pet sweeping and cleaning devices. Every housewife who has one uses it daily, it alone keeps the house san-
itarily dean The machine does all the work. No effort, no fatigue. Positive action. Brush picks up lint.
Gets all the dirt right through carpets, not simply off the top. Let Bay City Ice & Light Co show you one.
