Stonewall County oil activity
was highlighted this week by the
completion of five new producers.
A discovery from a Strawn
sand was completed one mile
west of Old Glory. It is Hick-
ok & Reynolds. Inc., of Cisco
No. 2 Fort Worth & Denver
Railroad Company, 'and is lo-
cated in Section 2, Block 9 of
the AB&M Survey.
Daily potential was 40.53 bar-
rels of^'40 gravity oil, plus 30
ner writ water. It is pumping
from 40 perforations at 5157-65
feet, where the formation, was
ruptured. The casing is on the
H.ev. Rex Mauldin and all of
the others who took 'part in the
community Christmas pageant,
staged at the Methodist Church
Inst Sunday evening.

has completed its No. 1-A M. L.
Tipton, situated in Section 2 of
Block 9 in the AB&M Survey.
Location is one and one-fourth
miles west of Old Glory in the
Corsica (Bend Conglomerate)
Field.
Daily potential was 143.34 bar-
rels of 42.2 gravity oil. plus 2.27
per cent water. Completion was
on an 18-64ths-inch choke with
packer set on the casing arid
300 pounds of tubing Treasure.
It is producing from 60 perfora-
tions at 5957-72 feet. Having a
ens-oil ratio of 481-1. the well
is bottomed at 6007 feet

las No. 2 Mrs. J. W. Brown, in
Section 1 of Block 9 < in the
AB&M Survev. was completed
two miles west of Old Glory. It
is in the Pumphrey (Conglom-
erate) Field.
During 20 hours, it flowed
308.64 barrels of oil through a
22-64ths-inch choke. Production
is from perforations at 6008-14
feet, where'the formation was
ruptured..
The well is a southwest off-
set to Hamon, et al, No. 1
Brown, a recent east extender
to the field.
No* 5 Annb Finished
Four miles southeast of As-
oermont. a Flowers (Canyon
Sand) Field well was com-
nleted. It is Phillips Petroleum
Comoany No. 5 An "is. and is lo-
cated in Section 55 of Block D
in the H&TC Survey.
No. 5 Annis had a 12-hour 'po-
tential of 168.88 barrels of 40
gravity oil. Flow wan through
a 24-64ths-inch choke with the
packer set on the casing and 180
rounds of tubing pressure. It
is producing from 48 perfora-
tes at 4286-08 feet, where the
formation was ruptured.

Students to Give
Programs Dec. 22
The high school chorus, under
the direction of Mrs. Letha
Mauldin. will present a series
of Christmas songs and carols
on Thursday afternoon at 2:45.
The program will be as fol-

"O Come All Ye Faithful",
"Angels We Have Heard on
High", "O Holy Night". "It
Came Upon a Midnight Clear",
"The First Noel". "Silent Night",
"Deck the Halls", "Silver Bells"
(Ten Teens) and "White Christ-
mas".
Soloists will be Mary Lois
McGilberry, Nan Norris, Dor-
nita Norris and Lvnda Yar-
borough. Accompanist will be
Gavle Payne.

vited to attend. •
The' grade school students
will present a Christmas pro-
gram on Thursday morning at
10 o'clock.
The Christmas music will be
nresented bv each individual
class. The accompanist will be
•Tudv Moore. Soloists are Ter-
ry Ellison and Rex Rash.
Each class will* present mu-
sic from the different coun-
tries in the world and the
carols they sang.

AREA ROAD WORK
IS SLATED FOR 1956
(The Hamlin Herald)
The 20-mile stretch of High-
way 83 from hamlin to Asper-
mont is scheduled for re-work*
ing during 1956, according to
advice from the State Highway
Department at Austin.
The stretch will be divided in-
to three different sections in-
as much as the highway is in
three counties.
Estimates mace by the de-
partment are as follows:
Jones County—Flexible base
and asphaltic concrete pavement
on U.S. 83 from Hamlip to the
Fisher Countv line, a distance of
4.2 miles. Estimated cost, $90,-
000.
Fisher County~Flnxible base

County line, 1.6 miles. Esti-

COMMUNITY TREE TO BE LOCATED
ON SQUARE; TO DISTRIBUTE GIFTS
Santa Claus will arrive in As-
permont on Saturday, December
24th at 2:30 p.m. and will be on
the court house square, accord-
ing to a communique just re-
ceived from his headquarters at
the North Pole. He will come
to Aspermont on a fire truck.
There will be a lighted Christ-
mas tree and Santa will distribute
candy and talk to all boys and
girls who are present. *
The civic clubs of Aspermont
are sponsoring a county-wide
project in connection with the
visit of Santa Claus, whereby
certificates for either groceries
items collected will be distri-
buted along with the merchan-
dise certificates.
A spokesman for the project
has stated that .business rapa
will not be solicited for fundi
for financing the project, Out
anyone wishing to make a
monetary contribution is asked
to contact Elwood Freeman or
Bryan Goodloe.
Checks should be made pay-
able to Community Christmaa
Tree Fund.
The cooperating civic organi-
zations are now attempting

. Voters of Road District No. 10
of Stonewall County went to
the polls last Saturday and ap
proved a road bond election in
the amount of $75,000,00.
According to unofficial re-
turns, the bond election carried.
12 to 0.
According to the election no-
tice issued by the county com-
mssioners* court, an ad valorem
tax will be levied in this parti-
cular road district, which is a
oart of commissioners' precinct
No. 2, of which Evin V. Gholr
ston is the commissioner.
Money will be used for the
construction, maintenance and
operation of macadamized roads
or turnpikes.
LIONS SEE RED CROSS
FILM AT NOON LUNCH
The Aspermont Lions Club
met in regular session on Tues-
day noon in the ballroom of the
Hotel Stonewall, with Lion
President Oscar Diekerson pre-
siding.
Following the meal, Lion Rid-
del introduced Jim Watson of
"Lubbock, field representative of
the American Red Cross, who
narrated a film of the flood
damage wrought by Hurricane
Dianne In Connecticut. T. C.
Clark operated the projector.
Following the showing of the
film, a business session was held
