returned to the living room
where a maroon-red Christmas
tree, decorated with blue and
silver, held lovelv gifts for the
Moores from the boys and girls.
After this, a box of food was
taken to a shut-in, and all en-
jov d ridiwr around viewing the
Christmas lightings in the dif-
ferent homes. •

BO* SCOUTS HAVE ANNUAL
CHRISTMAS DINNER
The Boy Scouts annual Christ-
mas party was held in Che home
of Mr. and Mr*. Carl W. Duncan
on Tuesday, December 20.
Instead of gift exchange for
themselves, the Scents chose to
take a Bible to a crippled col*
ored man and sing carols to
him, Bible book markers to the
children of the colored school and
sing Christmas carols with lbs.
Williams., teacher of the school.
They also took a toy bank to a
little boy who had lost his when
his, home burned last week.
For fun, the Scouts played a
game of basketball and football.
Refreshments were served in
the red and silver decorated
dining groom. The talble was
laid with a red cloth, and tiny
cherubims held red candles.
Miniature candy Santa Claus,
stockings, bells and trees form
ed a centerpiece. \Red and
preon plates were filled with

Miss Movelda Ellison, bride-
elect of Cliff Clifton, was' hon-
ored'on Wednesday afternooni
December 21, when Mrs. John
P. Ward hosted a party for mem-
bers of the Young Women's
Auxiliary of the First Baptist
Church and other invited guest*;
Guest* were greeted by Ann
Bradshaw president of the or-
ganization, and presented to Miss
Ellison and her mother, Mrs.
DeWitt Ellison, Sr. Ozella El-
Jison, sister of the honoree, reg-
istered the guests at a table
(centered with a miniature bridal
couple peering from angel hair
covered . with miniature balls.
The bride-elect was presented
a corsage of white carnations by
the host group.
The tea table was done in
green and White, colors of the
Y.W.A. The centerpiece for the
lace-covered table was a low
arrangement of Marconi daisies
in a green bowl. Tall .green
tapers in crystal holders shrrl
soft rays over the other ap-
pointments which were also in
crystal. Napkins bearing "Mo-
velda and Cliff" were done in
silver,
Dorothy Clark and Iva Jean
Altman, both members of the
Y.W.A., who are home from col-
lege for the holidays, served the
lime cooler, holly-decorated cake
spumes and Christmas candies.

Elkins and Miss Leola Elkins
hrlned with party arrangements.
Mrs. Ward, the counselor, was
in charge of the gift ceremony,
which included presentation of
the white Bible, a traditions!
gift to the member who is a
bride-elect. Mrs. George C.
Kenady, Jr.. and Rev. Frank Fos-
ter had parts in the impressive
presentation. Members, dressed
in white robes and carrying vari-
ous - colored candles entwined
with Christmas greenery and
white ribbon, formed a circle
nround the honoree as Reverend
Foster presented the Bible. Mary
Lois McGilberry, accompanied
by Mrs, Kenady, sang the dedi-
cation hymn, "Home Sweet
Home".
A beautifully-lighted Christ-
mas tree, which rested on a
table covered with green taffeta
and from which burned red
candles in silver holders, held
an assortment of lovely, gifts for
the honoree.—Reported.

flower-sprinkled print dress mated
to a rib-hugging bolero jacket. The
long-torso line bodice of the dress
tops a full gathered skirt, and
there's a narrow belt for those who
like their waistlines outlined. Tho
jacket is cut in rayon hopsackinif
linen that picks up the predominat-
ing color in the floral print — by
Marcy Lee.

hosts christmas dinner
Husbands were honored guests
at a Christmas dinner, hosted
by members of the Mary Martha
Sunday school class of the First
Baptist Church. The lovely af-
fair was held in tlie Fellowship
Hall of the church.
Yuletide decorations were used
throughout the room. The long,
linen-covered table was centered
with a Christmas arrangement,
flanked by tall, red tapers. Run-
ners of red satin ribbon were
dotted with silvered pine cones,
Christmas leaves and berries. An-
other arrangement of cedar and
pine cones, sprayed pink, held
a tall, pink taoer in an antique
crystal holder.
Invocation was given by Aub-
rey Ball, and Mrs. John P. Ward
read "The Night Before Christ-

Mrs. Belle Lawrence enter-
tained with a dinner on Christ-
mas Day when a number of her
children were present. Those
enjoying the day were Mrs. Lloyd
Rash and three sons, and Mr.
and Mrs. Wesley Rash and fami-

Mrs. Glenn Quade and family of
