T»iY (ITT HIGH SCHOOL FORFM.!
Have you noticed that the freshmen
have the best record for tardy and ab-
sents In high school, at least for their
size? The freshmen seem to like
school so well that they just can’t
bear to miss a day or come in late
Of course there are some exceptions
to this rule, as there are to all rules,
I but these are very few. With hard
I work we can reduce the number of
tai dies from one to none. Let’s all
get to work and try real hard. We
can do it and we will. Help us’’

Our Basketball Tenni.
Our basketball season is proving as
successful as our past football sea-
son With our team undefeated thus
far, with new suits, and an excellent
chance to finish second or third best
In district championship, we feel like
struttln' all over the county and shout
in Palacior and Gulf’s ear to make
their boasts for another year.
Our whole school is disappointed
over one fact, that is we won’t get
to wallop Palacios again this year
Site has descended to tiie lowest of
low levels in athletics since suffering
three straight defeats at the "shoul-
ders" of our football team. She has
been defeated by Markham, not even
making it interesting for them.
Our team this year proves superior
in quality, nerve and tactics over any
team we have played. Our whole
squad is as follows: Ira Cartwright.
Morris Blum. Jack Eidman. Tommie
Dodd. Clyde Lee. Waymond Altenberg,
Richard Gusman, Davis Watkins and
.Melvin Miller, manager.
Our squad has suffered a grave loss
in the last week Waymond Alten-
berg has been detained at home on
account of sicknen* and quarantine.
Altenberg (Cotton) plays a good de-
fensive game at guard and generally
loops his share of the goals. This
keeps him from entering any of our
real, honest-to goodnes games. We
all want to express our sorrow over
"Cotton’s" hard hick
