The pumps of the Lakeside Irriga-

ed up on Monday morning and sineq
that time tyive been furnishing water
to the rice fields. The pumps at the
river plant started up yesterday.
Thursday, morning The capacity of
the river pump is 75,000 gallons per
minute, and the Lakeside pump 90,000
gallons per minute. These pumps
are. it is said, without exception, the
finest that are in Irrigation use on
the Colorado River. The pumps at
Lakeside have never yet been run full
eaxpeity, but this year are flowing a
considerably larger volume of water
to the rice fields than last year. The
flume at Lakeside has this season
been widened from eleven feet to
seventeen feet, taking care of mor'
water and permitting the pumps to
be operated at a greater capacity.

Closod car comfort is combined perfectly with cross
country touring convenience in thin Buick six cylinder
tocring sedan.
In interior arrangement and appointment it is unusu-
ally attractive. Broad adjustable windows provide
‘open car vision" and airiness. And the smart trunk
on the rear affords the luggage facilities so essential
to touring.
Ask for a demonstration of this car. You wiil find in
it many new qualities.
