In an open letter to the teach-
ers and trustees of the common
school districts of Montague Coun-
ty, Supt. J. A. Fanning recounts
the achievements of the past
year and extends best wishes for
a prosperous New Year.
Prospects, he says, are brighter
for the rural schools than for some
time past. Great improvements
in the physical conditions of the
schools is’ noted and the average
term will be equal to that of last
year which was the longest on rec-
ord. A new building is under
way with another’to begin soon.
Most all districts, Mr. Fanning
says, are in better financial con-
: dition than at this period last
I year. Thirty-six districts have
almost $14,000 more in their local
funds than they had January 1,
1939. Five districts have paia off
all bonds outstanding against
them. -
Mr. Fanning expressed satisfac-
tion with the work of both teach-
ers and trustees..
