ers accepted the bid' of jhe First
National Bank of Bowie to act asl
depository for the county, ’the
tax collections for tbe state and
all the funds for the common
school district of the‘county as
well as the county trust funds. ’
Tfpjr decision was announced
Tuesday at their regular meeting.
• The Bowie bank ’will also lend
money to the_ county.
"The county has been given a '
preferential rate for years,” Char-
les Coffield, president of the bank
said, ‘‘well below the current in-
terest levels of even the choicest
credits.” ’ \
The commissioners also dis-
cussed the tax dilemma the coun-
t> faces and plans to meet again
Friday to discuss the question.
