that have come in to the office for
recipes for canning beans and pick
ling cucumbers, I wish to publish the
following recipes:
Benns.
Beans should be picked while still
young and tender and should be can

Put in a soda bath
soda to one gallon
soak in cold salt

This is to preserve the green color
Drain and pack quickly. Cover with
water ami add one teaspoonful sail
to each quart. Place the top loosely
on the jar. If you have a water bath
