tinuous rains during the last week
have again halted threshing, retard-
ing the movement <rf the new crop
Hough rice receipts in the local mar-
ket amounted to 18.268 bags, which
was considerably I elow the expecta-
tions of most brokers,
tieipated that should the
turn favorable during the next few
days receipts in volume may be ex-
pected. All Offering of rough rice was
quickly absorbed by local mills and
prices of Honduras ranged from $4.75
to $5.34 per barrel: Carolina, $4 40 to
$5.18; Edith, $1.90 to $5 02. and Early
Prolific from $1.02 to $1.21.

ordered to determine whether or not
said board of trustees shall be au-
thorized to levy such tax for mainte-
nance not exceeding one dollar on
the one hundred dollars valuation fur
all purposes, both bond and mainte-
nance tax together, and in no event
exceeding one dollar on the one hun-
dred dollars valuation when both the
bond rate and the maintenance rata
are added together, such tax, if voted
to be levied and eolleeted tor the year
A. 1). 1922, and annually thereafter,
unless it he discontinued a* provided
by law.
Win. Cush is hereby appointed man-
ager of said election, and he ohall se-
lect two judges and two clerks to as-
sist him in holding said election. None
but property taxpayers shall vote at
said election. Those in favor ot the
tax shall write or print on their ballot
“I-'OR THE TAX;” those against the
tux, shall write or print on their bal-
lots -AGAINST THE TAX."
A copy of this notice signed by the
president and attested by the (Secre-
tary of this board shall serve as a
proper notice of said election, and
the president shall cause notice of
said election to be given as provided
