AUSTIN* Dee. 3.—Fruit trucks
and trains are rolling out of the
Valley again under the best mar-
keting conditions in years, with
the prospect that the citrus crop
possibly will be slightly below the
31,000,000 bushels of fruit shif^
ped and processed during t h^
104041 marketing season, Com-
missioner of Agriculture, X E.
McDonald said today.
J There ware 15,300,640 buahels
bf citrus frpits shipped out irf____________________
the Valley last year, about 46per the shipping. A revised railroad
eent of the crop. The rest qtljr ‘ '■ - .
the fruit was processed into juice
and citrus hearts.
Because of the greater demand,
due to better conditions in the
nation, the Valley is facing pos-
sibly its best year, Commissioner
McDonlad, who has just return-
ed from a trip to the Valley said.
Although the quantity of fruit
shipped possibly will be smaller,
the quality is reported good.
The marketing season usually
begins about Oct. 1, and slowly |
gathers momentum thresh No-’
yember. By Christmas the
son is going fullyhlaat, wil
