two weeks ago. Mrs. Cates wrote to
the American consul for information re-

was forwarded to Douglas for detailed

Charlie Ross. As Cates went through
here Saturday on his way to Des Moines
Iowa that address in care of the Des

him.

Living down town is unpleasant on account of the dust heat and noise. Living
too far from town means loneliness and lack of conveniences. Grandview Addi-
tion strikes the happr medium far enough out to be quiet cool and pleasant
but reached by two car lines and supplied with telephone connection electric
lights and all other conveniences.

For the home builder Grandview offers exceptional opportunities. In the first
place Grandview lots are selling on easy terms $10.00 down $5.00 a month
enabling you to buy more than if you had a large cash payment to make. Then
Grandview lots are level requiring little or no grading. Again Grandview has
good soil so your home may be made beautiful with grass and flowers. And final-
ly the advantages of Grandview Addition are being generally recognized and lots
bought now will increase in value every month that you hold them.
We are anxious that you investigate to your entire satisfaction. Let us take you
out to Grandview; examine our books and see the kind of people who have
bought there; prove for yourself that Grandview Addition is the ideal home sec-
tion of El Paso.

Confusion not to say consternation
ruled the office Tuesday evening when
the wire report of the Chicago-New
York game in t..e American league ar-
rived. There is was: "Game called on
account of darkness: Chicago 5-9-3; New
York 5-S-3." Thinking it must have
been a mistake in transmission the
scores were asked for again. Back over
the wire they came with the same 5-9-3
opposite each of the teams. As such it
went as it lay and a little bit of base-
ball history was recorded in Chat it was
the first time two teams had ever
played a tie game with the runs hits
and errors the same.

Gll the new spit ball pitcher is ex
to play with the Shreveport club. This
will make an awful hole in the of-
fensive and defensive work of the club
as Flick is by far the strongest man on
the club if not the best man in the
league.
The schedule will go as it stands In-
stead of playing the Bisbee series Fri-
day Saturday and Sunday as originally
planned the schedule will be played out
as at first arranged with the opening
game on Saturday and Sunday and Mon-
day as the two deciding games.

San Francisco Calif.. May 25. Big
fight affairs have received a sudden
turn by announcement that Billy De-
lanej. by many considered the greatest
trainer in the world will train Jack
Johnson and be his chief second at the
Jeffries meeting. Delaney trained both
Jeffries and Corbet to many victories
and is highly skilled in the manage-
ment of heavyweight fighters.
Fight fans are wild with excitement
over the news which means that John-
son will be coached by a man who is
most familiar with Jeffries and his
methods of battle. Delaney trained Jef-
fries to the championship of the world
through the Fitzsimmons fight but la-
ter fell out with the "heavyweight over
some unknown question.
Jack Johnson himself made the an-
nouncement last night following An
afternoon of 14 mifes on the road. Tom

Toronto has taken up quarters with
the negro fighter. He is no boxer and
probably will assist the fighter on the
mat. Frank Sutton a Pittsburg hotel
man. was another arrival. Sutton is
a heavy better on the negro and will
become his betting commissioner it is
hinted.
"The present odds of 10 to 7 look
good to me" said Sutton. "I look to
see the betting even before it goes far
but even that price will suit me."
