First Home Football Game Friday
Night, 8:00 p.m., With Electra Tigers
By GLENN WILSON
The Bowie Jackrabbits and the
Electra Tigers tangle in the sec-
ond game of the season tomorrow
night at Jackrabbit stadium.
Time will be 8 p.m. Both teams
lost their openers, Electra to
Iowa Park and Bowie to Burk.
This should be a good game as
both teams will be trying to get
into the win column. (

The No. 1 C. Orm test seven
miles west of Bowie was reported
in last week’s News.
Ten miles southwest of Bowie,
C J. Brown and John W. Harris
and McDonald kicked the extra
point to lead 7 to 0 with only'3
minutes gone in the ball game.
The Rabbits took the kick-off
with Begley returning the ball
39 yards to the 49. There Lawyer
passed to end Paul Martin for 10
and several running plays car-
ried the ball to the Dogs’ 22 where-
Begley’s pass to Martin was in-
tercepted by Hodges.
Burk's second score came after
Fullback Boyd ran the ball out
, from the 3-yard line to the Bowie
47. After several plays the ball
was moved to the Bowie 1-yard
took the kick and marched to the
Burk 11-yard line where they
lost the hall on downs.
The Rabbits never saick^te as
they were still in there battling
both Burk and the referees at
the end of the ball game. The
Referees must have forgotten
some of the rules during the sum-
mer months, as we noticed three
main things that sort of stuck
out. Two being in the part of the
game when Clements was kick-
ing. First time I ever saw the
referee watch the kicker being
knocked down twice and not call
a penalty. And the other was
when Paul Martin going put to
receive a short pass over center
and was tackled before he got
_______n ____ _____ ______ half way there, with the referee
passed" to Waddell for 42 yards'! watching him fall.

night there was just too much of
something because the Bowie

going. The first thing that hap-

that hit the backfield. And the
next was that the Dbgs made
a touchdown on the third down

ball on a f/mble by Clements.
The Dogs had the ball only two
downs before Sonny Lawyer in-
tercepted a pass and carried to
the 19. But fumbles again played
a big part in the game when
Clements fumbled on the 6-yard
line and Burk took over. But the
Rabbits held and took over and
where threatening again when
the half ended.
Bowie fumbled 4 times and
only recovered 1 in the first half.
They completed three passes, 2
