Farmersville jumped out front
with two tallies in the second
quarter, but Lonnie McCartney, |
kept the Tigers in the game with
a look-in pass. Anthony Ballard
converted for two. Johnny Mor-
ris lad that goal line in mind on
a VW pass for 45 yards which
put, the Tigers on the Farmer
10-yard line. The Farmer de-
fense stiffened, and the visitors ’
went to the dressing room with
an 18-14 lead.
In the third quarter the Tigers
missed two golden opportunities
to put the game away. Eddy
Hughes recovered a fumble on
the 35-yard line, and later
Wortham recovered a fumble.
Both times the Tigers failed to
come up with points. Anthony
Ballard did score in the final
frame to pull the Tigers out
front 20-18 and keep the JV
record spotless.
Coach Kline praised his team
for doing a good job the second
half. They played better defense
the second half after being down
18-14. He had particular praise
i«c+Sfhl f°r Anthony Ballard, Lonnie
McCartney, and Charles Judd ■
on offense and Tim Porter, Eddy
Hughes, and Robert Mathis on
defense.
