out to 2.500 individuals In Denton
County on Thanksgiving afternoon
so that they will be delivered to
the homes on Dec 1, the opening
date tor the annual National Tu-
berculosis Association Seal Sale,
which Is being sponsored In Denton
County by the Denton Kiwanis
Club.
Each of the 2.500 Individuals will
receive $2 worth of the little dou-
ble-barred cross seals, the natiohal
symbol of the fight against tuber-
culosis. Also approximately 2,000
bangles will be distributed through
County Superintendent R L. Prof-
fer’s office for sale to the school
children of the county at any price
they can afford to pay Tills phase
of the drive will open after the
Thanksgiving holidays, though most

83, of Rule, former Denton County
resident and father of Mrs W. L.
Button of Denton, who died Friday
afternoon at his home, were held
Saturday afternoon at the Rule
First Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs Button and son. W.
J. Jr., were in Rule for the funeral
services, and Mrs Glen Kibler of
Yoakum, the former Mtes Thelma
Button, also attended and accom-
panied her parents back to Denton
where she will remain over the
Thanksgiving holidays. She will be

years. He lived In Denton County
near Little Elm for several years,
moving to Central Texas and then
to Rule. He te survived by his wife,
a son, T. H. Smith of Rule, and

of the proceeds and send 40 per
cent to the state association, where
in previous years the proceeds were
split in half between the two.
The funds in Denton County are ’
used to carry on a year-round tu-
berculosis education program, to
provide physicians' examinations,
tuberculin tests and X-rays for
children whose parents are finan-
cially unable to provide such treat-
ment. Thte work is done through
the children's clinic, and the only
funds which are available for tills
phase of the clinic's work will come
from this seal sale.
Tliose in charge of the sale are
anxious to educate the public on
the difference between the Tuber-
cultvite AssociaUofi and the Amer-
ica;! Red Cross In 1920. by mutual
agreement, the alliance between the
American Red Cross and National
Tuberculosis Association was dis-
solved. This alliance had been form-
ed in 1910 Since then the double-
i barred cross has appeared on all
the National Tuberculosis Associa-
tion Mate, which are now known
as "Tubcrculosui Christmas seals'
and not as Red Crass seals. The

has lost ground, and Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs, favorites of j
a season past, aren't In evidence
yet. The Dionne quint sets are
scarce thte year.

From early toy displays, it ap-
pears Princess Elisabeth dolls, Son-
ja Henle skating dolls and peasant-
dressed misses will have the fa-
vorite spots in the hearts of little
Miss America this Yuletide. Also
indications are that thte may be a
