power various pieces of equipment

designed for use in REA demon-
strations but equally suitable lor

The biggest traveling electrical
demonstration in the country, the
REA farm equipment tour, gomes
to this territory Dec. 11. and opens
its two-day show Monday alter,
noon at 1:30. The huge tent, cov-
ering more than one-sixth of an
acre, will be pitched on the fields
of the J. M. Chastain farm, on
Highway 77, north of Denton
The big equipment caravan is
brought here by the Denton County
Co-operativy, and neighboring co-
operatives in Wise, Cooke, Grayson
and Pfirker Counties, in co-opera-
tion with the Extension Service,
electrical farm equipment manu-
facturers, and the Rural Electrifi-
cation Administration, to give rural
electric users a chance to see a wide
variety of equipment and house-
hold appliances in actual operation
under farm conditions
The program Monday afternoon
includes a cooking contest, a light-
ing demonstration featuring the
new low-cost package lighting fix-
tures. a wiring demonstration, and
general discussion of irrigation sys-
tems. motors, and various farm
equipment.
On the next day. starting out at
10:30 and carrying through all
day and evening with intermissions
for lunch and supper, the tour will
provide continuous demonstrations
on the machinery line-up near the
big tent, conducted by J. R. Cobb ot
REA. and M R. Bentley of the
State Extension' Service, and dem-
onstrations Within the big tent of a
special interest to farm women
This program is sliared by Mlsi
Kathryn Harris. REA home econ-
omist. and Miss Nena Roberson,
home demonstration agent of Den-
ton County. Joint programs for
men and women are held in the
tent in the late afternoon and eve-
ning.
