DREAMLAND
I -
AUSTIN, Jan. 30.-44’)—The fruit
of nearly two year's labor by the
Postwar Economic Planning Com-
mission. neatly bound in a bright
green cover, was laid on the desk
of each legislator today.
This 31?member commission was
created by resolution of the House
in March, 1943 Gov. Coke Steven-
son named Gibb Gilchrist as chair-
man. Gilchrist resigned at the end
of 18 months and A. P Rollins of
Dallas waa appointed to his place.
No funds are provided the commis-
sion for its work.
Apparently the moat hopeful plan
in the report stems from the high-
way department—and was develop-
ed independent of the commission.
The education committee report
was frankly dark. Others have “ten-
tative plans" and “proposals."
