Dr. J. C. Ooae. 87, pioneer physi-
cian of Krum, died in a Dallas hos-
pital at 12 46 p. m. Monday, fol-
lowing a major operation. Funeral
services will be held Thursday at
2 p m in the Decatur Methodist
Church, conducted by the Krum
Methodist pastor. Rev. J. M Webb.
Rev J C. Graves of Howe, former
pastor of the Krum Methodist
Church, and Rev O. L. Mesnen-
ger, pastor of the First Christian
Church of Denton. Burial will be
in the Decatur cemetery.
Born in Missouri April 34). 1S58,
Dr Gose came to Texas when a
small child with his parents, and
was reared at Decatur Before
studying medicine he taught school,
and was married to Mias Annie Lee
Chance, a pupil tn his school, in
1884, who survives He was the last
living son of a large family, but
three sisters survive. Mmes Jeff
Waggoner and Mackie Hanna of
Wichita Frills and Henrietta Perrin
of Haskell. Also surviving are a
son, Paul Oom, an only child; a
grandson, Paul O. Gose in the U.
a Navyf two granddaughters,
Mmes. Herman Muncy of Krum
and Freddy Ridenour of Wichita
Falls, whose husband. Maj Ride-
nour, U 8. Air Corps, is In Eng-
land; three great-grandsons Her-
man and Bob Muncy and Freddy
Ridenour Jr.
Dr Gose was noted In Krum,
aside from his professional life, for
his active interest in the Methodist
Church, and assisted in erecting
two church edifices in Krum Bap-
tized in infancy, he joined the
church when nine years old He
served as steward of the Krum
church for many years
Active pallbearers for the funer-
al will be nephews of Dr Gose. and
honorary pallbearers will be offi-
cials of
Church,

W Stanley, and a native of Pilot
Point, was ouried in Pilot Point
Tuesday afternoon alter funeral
services were held in Dallas, where
she died Sunday She was the mo-
ther of Mrs R C. Woodford of
Denton, and other survivors are
two daughters. Mrs I N Patheree
of Dalles, with whom she was mak-
ing home, and Mrs Hosea Hooper
of Grand Prairie; two sons, L B
Stanley of Houston and H< R
Stanley of Flint, Mich; 10 grand-
children and four great-grandchild-
ren, and a brother, 8. C Bates of
Dallas
Mrs Stanley was the daughter of
the late Mr and Mrs Daniel Bales.
Denton County pioneers who came
here from Kentucky. Her husband
died in 1012. She was a member of
the Baptist Church.
Attending the services from here

Herman Stanley and daughter.
