Roll for the fourth consecutive
year were Patsy Boyd and Wallace

The piano auditions here were
a part of a countrywide event in
which more than 15.000 students
have participated from Boston
to Los Angeles. Names of all the .

Anticipating the vocational prob-
lems that all youths face, the voca-
tional guidance committee of the
Denton Klwanis Club, working
through El Centro, Is sponsoring a
unique plan to aid young people in
choosing a career, and Dr. Merl E.
i Bonney, chairman of the commit-
tee, said that he is now ready to
-accept additional girls and boys In
the program.
' Under the new program, teen-age
boys and girls actually serve for
two hours a week for six weeks
with some local agency in their
chosen occupation or profession in
a learning situation. At the end of
this period, the trainee should be
able to determine whether or not
he lias the aptitude for that par-
ticular held and whether or not he
would be happy in that type of
work. If the trainee finds that he
Is not fitted for the profession he

concerns and arrange to place the
Individuals In the fields of their
choice. Local business and profes-
sional people have Indicated a de-
sire to co-operate with the pro-
gram

a piano recital in Fort Worth with
Miss VtogMa Thomas, 15-year-old
pupil of piano at the School of Mu-
sic. The concert was given at Our
Lady of Victory.
Miss Dowlas Ihursday evening
program will include "Prelude and
Fugue In O Major" by Bach; "Son-
ata Pathetique, Opus 1J~ by Bee-
thoven, "Etude tn F Mspor, Opus

will appear as guest artists for fu-

Miss Eddie Lou Haug, soprano,
graduate student of North Texas,
State from Bl. Spring, was pre-
sented in recital in the music hall

otanpanted by Jimmy Huddleston,
freshman piano major of Vernon.
Miss Haug sang the convention-
al style song recital, opening her
program with "Nina” by Peruoleal,
followed by “Cade la sera" by L.
MUIIatti. The first group was clos-
ed by tlw very well-known and very
difficult "Queen of the Night” aria
from "The Magic Flute" by Moe-
art Mias Haug did some of the
best shigin. of the evening in this
aria, its musical texture being well-
suited to her type of voice.
Next offered on the program wae
a duet "Stonor ni princlpe io to
vorreo” from "Rlgoletto" by Verdi.
Miss Haug was assisted by David
Miles, tenor. The "Hymn to the
Sun" from “Le Oo. d'or ’ by Rim-
sky-Korsakov was very well sung
by Miss Haug. A very interesting
group of songs by the greet ielder-
1st Hugo Wol comprised the third
group which included "Nimmeraat-
te Liebe," "Auf ein Altps Bild,,’ and

Homing Heart" by Malotte, "Mo-
ther Dear" Polish folk song, "The

tryout in the "Showtime" contest,

As a consequence, she won the
contest and is scheduled to sing on
the first of the College Capers per-
formances In Dallas May 20 When
Charles Ffeeman and Maurice
Stein, representatives of Interstate
Theaters In Dallas, were on the
campus giving' auditions for the
College Capers of the Air. Mrs
Cooper was in a practice room go-
ing through her regular practice
routine as a voice student of Mrs.
Nadine Flindan of tha Hahaal of
Music Two of her friends per-
suaded her to go up and try out
for the contest.

the audition room singing "To-
