Over 3.000 persons visited Ben
Ivey’s new building Prlday and
Saturday during open house cere-
monies. and saw the first Denton
preview of the new Ford trucks, on
display for the first time.
The new Ford plant is located on
the comer of South Elm and Prai-
rie Streets.
Saturday night’s entertainment
program featured the Denton High
School string orchestra under the
direction of Mrs Merl Cornelius,
the A-Cappella Choir under the di-
rection of Merl Cornelius, and ma-
gician tricks by Lon A. Speer.
The modern new building, con-
structed of tile, brick and glass,
gives Increased room for all types
of Ford sales and service, and in-
cludes show rooms, offices, parts
department, service department,
service station and perking lot.

LITTLE ELM RITES
HELD FOR C. L. TUBBS
Final rites for C. L. Tubbs. «7,
of Little Elm. who died suddently
Wednesday afternoon at his home
after a heart attack, were held
at 3:30 p. m. in the Little Elm
Baptist Church Friday, with burial
in the Utile Elm cemetery.
Pailbearers were Jim Harris,
Ouy Mercer. Homer Lambert. Jim
Elbert, Jim Springer, and Walter
Chastain, all of Uttle Elm
Survivors are his widow; two
aona, John Tubbs and George Tubbs
of Houston, five daughters. Mrs.
Velma Steadman and Mrs. Wilma
Watson of Denton. Mrs Ruth White
of Houston. Mrs. Myra Clay of
Greenville, and Miss Bonnie Tubbs 1
of Wichita Falls; one sister. Mrs.
MatUe Burch of California, and two i
grandchildren.

Found in Tenth
In Tidelands Battle
rural acbool children have visual
defects, according to general find-
ings of testers who have given
Maasachusetts Vision tests to about
two-thirds of the 600 pupils. Com-
plete findings will not be determ-
ined until the vision tests are fin-
ished some time during January.
The second triple shot providing
Immunization against diphtheria,
tetanus and whooping cough will be
given Wednesday and Thursday to
the 313 students tn the common
schools of the county who received
the first in the series of three shots
about six weeks ago..
Schedule of visitations by Mrs.
Ada Jo Hudson, tiX nurse who will
give the Injections, is as follows:
Wednesday morning—-Good Hope,
Elm Ridge, Balt Branch, Little Elm.
Wednesday afternoon—Lake Dal-
las, Corinth and Center Point

that school laws be recodified, stat-
ing that the laws have "grown up
piece-meal, and need stream-

Schools Superintendent Nat Wil-
liams oi Abilene was named a
trustee for the association s per-
manent endowment fund.
The next convention of the as-
sociation wiU be held Nov. 26-36.
A committee appointed by Presi-
dent Emma Mae Brotse of Mar-
shall wiU select the next conven-
tion city.

las. veteran of World War I, 36th
Army Division, died at 3 a. m. at
Ashbum General Hospital in Mc-
Kinney Friday at 3 a. m. after about
a week’s Illness.
Funersl services will be held
today at 3 p. m. in Shepard Fu
neral chapel, conducted by
D. B Lloyd. Burial wUl be
Swisher cemetery, with the Amer-
ican Legion conducting the grave-
side service.

J. M. Swisher, pioneer merchants
of Lake Dallas, then Oarsa. SwisJr
