with assault with a deadly weapon
after a student at the school was
wounded in the arm and back The
student was John Hendsbee, 20
The night watchman. A. G Mc-
Cullough. 56. said in a statement
to County Attorney Theo Ash that
Hendsbee was shot during an argu
ment McCullough said he had ask-
ed the student and a girl to leave
the campus.

cepted the resignation of Secretary
of Agriculture Anderson today
with an endorsement of his can-
didacy for the Democratic nom-
ination for the Senate from New
Mexico
"In consenting to your release at
thia time,” the President wrote,
"I do so in the hope that pe-
riod immediately ahead is but the
preliminary to your reentry to the
Halls of Congress—next time as
a member of the Senate."
Anderson formerly was a mem-
ber of the House of Representa-
tives.

Jim Taylor, 1405 North Locust,
and two companions, were more
than mildly surprised when they
found a giant catfish on a small
hook on their trotllne at Lake Dal-
las Bundsy.
Taking no chances, one of the
trio went overbosrd into the
waist • deep water and hauled the

on the scales. He weighed 35
