The first of a series of parties
for Miss Carolyn Moses, bride-
elect of Dane R. McElrath. Jr.,
wu given by Mr. McElrath's moth-
er, Mrs. C. C. Smith, when she en-
tertained at a tea Friday night
from 7:30 to 8:30 in the Texas State
College for Women tea room.
Approximately 8b luesta. greet-
ed by the hostess and her honoree,
called at the tea ahower. The
reception room waa decorated with
arrangements of stock, caladlums
and sweetpeas.
Mlaa Joyce Ptntseh of Beaumont
was in charge of the gueat book.
Music during the evening waa pro-
vided by Miss Mary Anna Watson,
pianist, of Henrietta.
In charge at placing the ahower
gifts were Mias Ann Dempsey ol
8an Antonio and Miss Katherine
Bolton of Missouri, who also look
guests into the dining room.
The refreshment table was laid
with a pink organdie cloth. Seven
white candles formed the back-
ground for a maas arrangements
of white stock, gardenias and other
flowers, with which waa placed a
figurine of a bride and groom Re
freshments were pink and blue
bell-shaped mints, pastel cook-
ies. and Iced pink punch. Napkins
of pink and green carried the name
of the engaged couple and their
wedding date, May 28.
Mrs. Alton Blankenship served
at the punch bowl during the first
tea hour and Mu Edith Brlsac pre-
sided at the second hour.

ter of Rev. and Mrs. A. C. Halaell
of Sipe Springs became the bride
of Onls Allen Taylor, eon of Mr.

home of the bride s uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Thompson In
Coleman Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
Rev. Halaell pet formed the cere-
mony.
The bride was given In marriage
by Mr Thompson. She wore a
street - length gown of white silk
crepe and a hat of white straw.
Her flowers were orchids and atep-
hanotia, which she carried on a
white Bible.

or. She wore a dresa of blue crepe,
fashioned like the bride's.
Jerry Taylor of Denton, brother
of the bridegroom, was best man.

ter. former roommate of the bride

: served the wedding cake and Mrs.

at the punch service.
As the couple left for a brief wed-
ding trip, Mrs. Taylor wore a dress
of blue linen with white accessor-
ies and an orchid corsage.
The bride la a graduate ol O'Bri-
en High School and attended TSCW.
Mr Taylor, a graduate of Den-
ton High School, served three years
with the Air Force, with overesas
duty in the South Pacific. The cou-
ple will live in Denton, where the
