ty and social chairman of Del-

gineering School.

Mrs. Slhelton, the for m e r
Cisco. jM'artha Ledbetter, was born
in the old picket house, now
located i n the Albany City
Park, on Feb. 14, 1875.

highway. She wa.s reared at
Fort Griffin, where she is the
oldest member of the Fort
Griffin Baptist Church, having
united with that church when
a child. She is very active
at home and in her church
work, and is a member of the
Fort Griffin Know-Your-
Neighibor Club.
Mrs. Shelton’s father, Judge
W. H. Ledbetter, was a real
pioneer in this area. He op-
erated the 'Ledbetter Salt
Works some eight miles south-
west o-f Albany during the
Civil War, and was involved
M some Indian fights there.
'Fork a.t Fort Griffin, where
he helped organize Sheckel-
,ford County and was the first
county judge.
