Larry Franklin Plays
At Candlestick Park
Larry Franklin, along with “Asleep
at the Wheel” band, performed at
half-time during the 49ers and New
York Jets game at Candlestick Park
in San Francisco, California, Sunday
before a crowd of 56,000.
Later, they attended the Dallas
Mavericks game while there.
After returning to Austin, Larry
was driving in a parking area and
was cited for good-driving conduct
and presented a check for $50.00 by
the officer who noticed his courtsey
to another driver.
The officer said people fail to show
courtsey to other people during the
Christmas rush. This concluded an
exciting week for Larry, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Franklin of White-
wright.

hobby when she had seen an egg
someone had made back in 1972.*
Her Christmas tree is hung with the
egg ornaments she has made. She
makes such things as jewelry,
ornament boxes, jewelry boxes,
clocks and so many other things.
They range in size from a small bird
egg to a large ostrich egg. She uses
chicken eggs, goose eggs, bird eggs,
guinea eggs, just any she can get
ahold of. She gets most of her eggs
from dealers.
Mrs. Skaggs uses an electric hobby
tool to cut the egg shells which is a
delicate job. It takes many hours of
tedious work to make a beautiful
egg but the finished product is
something to behold. She sells them
as gifts, keeps a few herself and
gives some as birthday gifts.
Some of the eggs have figurines in
them, beaded, painted on, scenes of
all kinds and some even have doors
with hinges on them. Mrs. Skaggs
said she has gotten many hours of
pleasure from her hobby.
