Aa informal hospitality of beautl-
1 hM appotatmMta was tto delightful
tea and raaeptton given during the
I late hours of Friday afternoon by Mrs.
G E. Rodas and her daughter, Mies
Mary Rodes, whose wedding to Mr.
Samuel Dale Marett. Jr., will be an in-
teresting event of next Tuesday.
As the guests arrived they were
greeted by Mrs. E. O. Youens.' Grace-
ful summer flowers tn antlquqe vases
formed the setting in the reception
room where the hostesses were assist-
ed in receiving by B|rs. G. W. Carr
and Miss Georgia Carr of San Antonio
and Mrs. W. F. Gibbs. Miss Rodes
wore an attractive model of embroider-
ed yellow mousseline de sole which en-
hanced her blonde loveliness.
Mrs Jack Hunsucker of New Or-
leans, Mrs. Hunter Yarborough and
Louise Craig served as Mistress-
es of the Wardrobe and directed the
guests in viewing the exquisite linens
and trousseau ensemble.
Seasonal blossoms filled the dining
room, the delicate hues of pink roses
and marigolds providing the domin-
ant color note. Other members of the
house party were Mesdames 8. D. Cole-
man. A. J. Youens. J. P. Terrell, R.
F. Foster, H. L. Stewart, D. G. Fran-
cis of San Antonio and Miss Massey
Lott, who mingled with the guests and
ushered them into the solarium where
a brilliant array of gifts attested the ■
popularity of the charming bride-elect e
Mrs. P B. Brookman invited the guestt .
' Into the garden where chairs were e
i arranged in pleasing groups against a ,
i background of evergreens and flow-
ering shrubs. Dispensing the hospital-
ity here were Mesdames J. C. Riesto. i
