garnish (and taste good, too) with any
meat dish. Slice Spanish onions in three-

degrees F.) and fry. until a medium

A LOGICAL
CONCLUSION
may
Concerning the way a man
lives affecting his salvation, the
following passages (which could
be multiplied) speak for them-
selves:
“Be not deceived; God is not
mocked; for whatsoever a man
soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh
shall of the flesh reap corrup-
tion; but he that soweth ,o tne
Spirit shall of the Spirit reap
life everlasting.” (Gal. 6:7-8).
A Missionary Baptist preach-
er, Mr. Sam Mortis, pastor of
the First Baptist Cnurch, Stam-
ford, Texas, made this state-
ment: "All the prayers a man
. may pray, all the Bibles he may
read, all the churches he may
belong to, all the services he
may attend, all the sermons he
may practice, all tha debts he
may pay, all the ordinances he
observe, all the laws he
may keep, all the benevolent acts
he may perform will not make
•firs soul one whit safer; and all
the sins he may commit from
idolatry to murder will not make
his soul in any more danger.
/• * * The way a man lives has
nothing whatever to do with the
salvation of his soul.” (A His-
tory of Sixteen Different Church-
es, oy W. A. Black).
It is a pleasure to commend
Mr. Morris for his frankness in
stating the only logical conclus-
i.n his doctrine forces him to
teach. Tb:« conclusion must be
drawn in order to support two
opinions he was ordained to
preach: 1. The direct operation
of the Holy Spirit in convicting
and converting sinners—that God
in His own gcod way and at His
own good time will speak di-
rectly to the sinner and tell him
that he is saved; and 2. The im-
possibility of apostasy—that one
once saved cannot fall from
grace so as to be eternally lost.
In the Daily Times of March
10. 1944 appeared an article on
“How- God. Speaks to Man,” and
it is needless to repeat that here,
but, to the Roman Christians,
Paul wrote, “For I am not
ashamed of the gospel of Christ;
for it is THE power of God unto
salvation to everyone that be-
lieveth; to Jew first, and also to
the Greek.” (Rom. 1:16). Pa.ul
does not say the gospel is A pow-
er of God tc save, but It is THE
POWER. God has ether powers,
but the ONLY POWER God ex-
erts to save men is THE GOS-
PEL OF CHRIST. Thus did Jesus
command, “Go ye into all the
■world, and preach the gospel to*
every creature. He that believ-
eth and is baptized shall be
saved: but he that believeth not
shall be damned.” (Mk. 16:15-16).

“Now the works o-f the flesh
are manifest, which are these:
Adultery, fornification, unclean-
-ness, lasciviousness, idolatry,
witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, 'wrath, strife, sedi-
tions, heresies, envyings, mur-
ders, drunkenness, revellings,
and such like; of which I tell you
before, as I have also told you
in time past, that they 'which do
such things shall not inherit the j
kingdom of God.” (Gal. 5:19-21). I
“Wherefore lay apart all
filthiness and. supsrfluity of
naughtiness, and receive with
meekness the eingrafted word,
which is able to s»ve your souls.
But be ye doers of the 'word, and
not hearers only, daceiving your
own souls.” (Jas. 1:21-22).
“Let us hear the conclusion of
the whole matter: Fear God, and
keep his commandments; for this
is the whole duty of man. For
God shall bring every work in-
to judgment, with every secret
thing, 'whether it be good, or
whether it be evil.” (Eccl. 12:13-
14).
FOR EASTER—Lilies, Yellow
Calla, Hydrangeas, Begonias' and
other Pot Plants. We have a

Highway 67 across from Lin-
ger-Longer Lake. T. J. A. Rob-
inson. 4-5d
Those that are obedient to
Christ are wise and those who
are disobedient are foolish,
(Mt. 7:21-27), and the foolish
will not be present at the mar-
riage feast of the Lamb (Mt.
25:1-13). To be classed Bs wise,
beloved, 'we must obey the gos-
pel—believe, repent, confess and
be immersed into Christ:—and
live the Christ-life until death
(Rev. 2:10). Others may not have
to live their religion, but Chris-
tians do; and Christians are the
heirs of heaven.
