officers for their efficiency on the same

The Value of the Vote
Hev. Miles Hanson spoke on the
spiritual and moral side of the vote.
"No matter what a man may say the
only real test for what he really be-
lieves is the way he votes." said Mr.
Hanson. Tou cannot really believe
anything unless you do It. Here comes
in the spiritual value of the vote. If
you believe in the right opposed to cor-
ruption you will vote for the right.
A :uty is beautiful because the people
will it to be so. If a city is u;ly. it
i3 because the people are satisfied that
it should be so. Our votes have made
Kl Paso and whatever it is. it has been
made so by the people The principal
fault of HI Paso which is also the dis-
grace of all American cities is the red
light district where legalized vice can
publicly and openly be displayed.
Men Who Refuse- to Vote.
"The greatest difficulty seems to b
in getting th enfranchised men to
vote I believe that people who do
not vote should be punished. I be-
lieve that the old Bible parable of the
'man with the talents' should be trans-
posed and as the man with the vote"
be applied to our local lives. The ques-
i tion the final and great jud;e will ask
t of us will be 'what did you do with
i your vote." for it is the one influence
that is absolutely in our individual
power to use to help our city our
neighbors and our nation."

HE whole truth about the new Edison Disc Phonograph cannot at
once be told.
If ALL of its new and wonderful qualities were set forth before
the public had actually experienced them the description might not be
credited.
The most ordinary statement of its advantages appeared over-
drawn. The strongest statements that have been made in favor pf the
Edison are mild by comparison with those that are told by Edison own-
ers. People who have vowed they would never have a phono
graph in their homes are now Edison converts and owners.
We demonstrated our faith in the superior qualities of the Edison
by taking the El Paso Agency inthe face of the strongest competition.
Tfu faith has been amply justified and the uttermost that we might
say is being outdone by our friends. The Edison Diamond Disc Phono-'
graph itself and the owners of Edisons have relieved us of the neces-
sity of praising it further.
We do not believe that anyone after hearing the Edison can resist
the impression that it is indeed the final word in things musical.
Then only can Mr. Edison's exclamation "Real Music At Last"
' be fully appreciated.
Let us demonstrate this marvelous musical instrument either at our
Studio or in your own home.

"What makes it so darkC" asked Un-

"And no wonder" answered Miss
Fnzzy Wuzzy. "There is so much snow-
that it has drifted right up over the
glass windows covering them up to the
top. In front of the door of the bunga-
low too is a pile of snow so big that
we can i get inrougn it."
"My. what a big dees snow this is!"
cried the rabbit gentleman. "I never
saw so mucn well we are nice ana
comfortable in here. Nurse Jane."
"Indeed we are" said the muskrat
lady thankfully. "Our cellar Is filled
with carrots and turnips."
So she and the rabbit gentleman sat
by the fire eating and talking and it
still snowed outside. For two days it
snowed and the snow was o deep it
was twice over Uncle Wiggily's big
ears to say nothing of being over his
neaa. But ne did not mind that until
Nurse Jane became ill
Perhaps it was from eating too many
carrots or not enough of turnips. I
can t be sure about that Anyhow
Nurse Jane was taken suddenly HL
"Oh. please send fo; Dr. Possum""
cried the muskrat lady. "He will cure
me. Please get Dr. Possum. Wiggv'"
"I would if I could" said Mr. Long-
ears "But how can I get out of the
hollow stump bungalow when the deep
snow is piled over the doors and win-
dows" 1 don't see how it can be done
but I will try"
The rabbit gentleman tried to get out
he iTnl "Off but when he opened
it he saw a solid wall of snow before
him. It was the same at the back door.
And when Uncle Wiggily opened first
one window and then another hoping
he could get out of one the snow was
piled against them too
'Til go up in the attic and try the
little window there." thought the rab-
bit gentleman. "Perhaps the snow is
not quite that high
Up to the attic window- of his hollow
stump bungalow Uncle Wiggily went
To his delight he found the snow was

and cried

snowed in. and she wants Dr Possum'
How can I get out to get him? Please

"I'll help von" said a voice that
seemed to come from awa down the
cellar as it was far under the snow
"Who are you?" asked Uncle Wiggily
curious like.
"Your friend the good skillery -sealery
alligator who used to be bad." was
the answer. "With my rough nutmeg
grater tail which is double jointed and
has humps on it I'll saw a path through
the snow drifts for you Uncle Wig-

Then the good alligator who used 'to
be bad thrashed around w itb his rough

blocks of snow and. on the end of his
tail tossed them oer the tree tops
until he had cleared a nice path In
front of Uncle Wiggil s front door.
Then the. ral.bit gcntl man. who
