QUEEN THi-AIRE
One of the most remarkable mar-
riage " frame-ups" ever conceived i
that enacted in Vitagraph’s new pro-
duction. “The Darkest Hour." Th:s
feature will he shown at the Queen
theatre today only.
Harry T. Morey is the star. Mr.
Morey playing the role of Peter
Schuyler a wealthy clubman be
comes the victim of the “frame up. '
He is sought after by a dozen beau-
tiful debutantes who arc attracted
by his wealth as well as his personal
qualities.
One of the young women Marion
Dinsmore whose family has high so-
cial standing but low funds is influ
enced by her parents and a scheming
sweetheart to deliberately frame uj-
the wealthy clubman. The girl guile-
fully gets Peter into the position of
having unconsciously proposed to j
her. The engagement is announced
instantly and Peter seems to be '
thoroughly “roped.”
On that evening Peter is attacked |
by burglars in his apartment. A blow-
on the head causes him to suffer am
nesia or the total loss of memory. ’
tie wanders forth and is picked u;-
by the agent of a lumber camp and]
is soon converted into a lumberjack.!
When he returns several month?
later. he finds to his surprise that hi
is supposed to be married to Marion.
This results in a tremendously dra-
matic climax.

mann theatre today.
Sessue Hayakawa is the star in this
Haworth production and according to
Robertson-Cole the distributers the
noted Japanese star registers in one
of the be<t roles of man) seasons.
The Japanese Prince was a wel-
come and striking figure in the most
aristocratic London society. H
watched closely the actions of tha
adventurer ami cosmopolitan roue
the Count De la Mar. This count is
paying too much attention to the
Dutchess of Devenhatn wife of the
Prince’s most intimate friend.
Ami the Oriental Prince has a mis-
sion. He is seeking a certain Ur
scrupulous man who had brought hC
ilustrious father to his death an*
had dishonored his family twenty
years before.
Finally he had abundant proof tha:
Count tie la Mar is the man he is
seeking:. It is then that the count
had almost persuaded the Dutchess
to elope with him. The next morn
ing the count’s body is found.
Scotland V a r d suspects three
men apparently: The Duke the
Prince and some mysterious third
party. Not only is there mystery in
this picture but also suspense and ro-
mance. *
For the Prince finds himself deep-
ly in love with the pretty Amenean
girl who was visitintt London. And
she found herself loving the Japanese
Prince also. Hut then there was the
racial prejudice to combat.
