Dr. O. V. Lawrence of Brownsville was
late yesterday afternoon elected presi-
dent of the Lower Kio Gra Ve»;:"al
Association at the meeting held in the
Chamber of Commerce rooms.
Dr. McCann o* Donna was elected vice
president and Dr. H. K. Locw of Browns-
ville was chosen secretary-treasurer.
About twenty-five doctors heard the
discussions on several scientific sub-
jects. I)r. Ray K. Daily of Houston dis-
cussed the “Modern Conception of Ver-
tigo.” Dr. Lawrence introduced the sub-
ject for general comment.
A lively discussion was occn toned by
the subject “Vitamins" a paper which
w’as presented by Dr. W. J. Vinsant of
San Benito. Dr. Loow introduced the
discussion on this subject.
Discussion of “Pathology in Radio-
graphs as an Aid in Diagnosis" was pre-
sented by Dr. B. M. Works of Browns-
ville and illustrated with X-ray pictures.
The discussion took the form of an il-
lustrated lecture. Dr. Works explaining
and discussing each plate as it was
thrown on his radiograph picture ma-
chine.
After the business meeting the medi-
cos and their ladies went to the Browns-
ville Golf and Country club where they
had dinner.
While the doctors were holding their
business discussion .the ladies were en-
tertained with a reception at the Coun-
try Club.
