KRNNERLY-DANCY
A beautiful wedding was solemnized
at the Baptist church in Brownsville at
3:30 Saturday afternoon uniting Miss
Georgia Gertrude Dancy and Thomas
Everton Kennerly.. The church was
beautifully decorated carrying out a
rainbow color scheme. A fountain was
improvised at the altar with colored
lights on the falling waters.
Preceding the ceremony Mrs. A. W.
Marshall played “At Dawning” by Cad-
man. Miss Annie Tucker beautifully
sang “I Yove You Truly” by Bond. She
wore a pink satin dress with a green
and pink hat. The bridal party enter-
ed to the strains of "Wedding M.ir< h‘
from Lohengrin.
Little Mary Helen George in a dainty
green chiffon dres- and t green polk
bonnet carrying a colonial bouquet of
pink rcse huds with green ntaline
streamers was junior bridesmaid and
Irl Kinnerly Jr. a junior groomsman
wore black velvet suit.

crepe in pa-tcl shades trimmed in
cream lace and medallions of lace and

Miss Odessie Dancy wore old rose.
They wore preen polk bonnets with
rosebud trimmings.
The bride entered with her father
Judge Oscar C. Dancy. She w re a
beautiful gown of white' chiffon x*e lvet
with chantilly lace a white chiffon
hat and white* satin slipper-. Shi car-
ried a shower bouquet af brides roses
and lillios of the valley. Her only
ornament was a platinum bar pin set
with diamonds a gift from the groom.
She was preceded by little flower

nie D. Marshall dressed in pink chiffon
carrying pink tualiue* baskets who se*at-
tereel pink and white rose petals in her

wore blue crepe with a preen folk bon-

held at the home of Judpe and Mrs.

called to extend good wishes. The
punch howl whs presided over by Miss*

M i ss Florewne Pierce had charge of the
brides book.
Out-of-town guests were Judge and
Mrs. T. M. Kennerly Mr. and Mrs. Irl
Kennerly Irl Kennerly Jr. l'hillip
Woodruff and John Bybee of Hmston
Mips Velma Smith of Kingsville and
William Carr of San Antonio. Mrs. F.
H. Robertson and daughter Miss Merry
Robertson Misses Cowgell. and Gools-
by and Mrs. F. W. Thomas of San
Benito.
The many beautiful gifts attested the
p pularity of the young couple. They
left cn the afternoon train for San An-
tonio and from there they will motor
to the Davis mountains for a two weeks
stay. The first of October they will
enter the University of Texas where
the groom is a senior law student. Both
the bride and groom are popular stu-
dents Mrs. Kennerly being a member
of the Delta Zeta sorority and Mr.
Kennerly belonging to the Delta Theta
Phi fraternity.

Beall Knot Club
Mr*. Curry Wood entertained the
member* of the Beau Knot club Tues-
day night at her hoirt on St. J harles
St. The color scheme was pink and
white. The hostess servtd * delicious
refreshments of chicken salad wafers
and 1< mi nade and cake. 1 he time was
spent in sewing.
The following were present: Mrs.
Duff Howard. Mr<. Sim Harvey. Stel-
la Dickason Elsie Reid Stelcil White
Lula Proctor Ethel Smith Harriet
Brown. Nellie Grace Mr*. Curry Wood

auxiliary of the Presbyterian church

of Mrs. L. K. Morris Monday afternoon
at 1 o’clock.
The Ladies' Missionary society of
Methodist church will meet at the
church Monday afternoon at four
o’clock for a missionary le«son.
The Ladies’ aid of the Christian
church will meet at the church Mon-
day afternoon at four o’clock.
Sunday School Class Party
The* Junior Girls class of the Pres-
byterian Sunday school entertained
their mothers and a few other pue-ts at
the home of their teacher Mrs. G. E. !
Dcdd Wednesday afternoon. The fol-
lowing intsre ting propram was enjoy-
ed. A talk on “The Activities of the
class” by Frances Kaufman; Song
“Voices of the Wood" by the class;
Piano Number l*y Margaret Ander.-on;
and a short talk *by Rev. K. P. Day.
Mrs. Del l’< rkins a guest of the party
who is a temher of the Junior class of
the Methodist Sunday school told of
the activities of her class. Master
(reorge Emmet Jr. gave a recitation
“The ( lock Brownie." Fruit punch
cake and candy were served. Those

were joined by their mother Mrs. Rus-
sell McChesney who accompanied
them heme.
Little Miss Marion Hedrick returned
this week after spending the summer
with her mother in Mirando City.
Mrs. H. M. Skelton who has been in
the M* rry hospital for three weeks fol-
lowing an operation has returned to her
home and is convalescing rapidly.
Mts. G. O. Clough and State Super-
intendent of Kducatien Marrs were
guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas J. Yoe.
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Fritchett were
guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas J. Yo during institute week.
