Gar Belonged to King Wor-
ley Had Been Bought
by J. F. Morrow.
J. F. Morrow a carpenter was ar-
rested by the police Tuesday night for
fast driving in an automobile and was
today released on $100 bond. The joy
ridlng was done on the county road
between El Paso and Ysleta
In the arrest of Morrow is solved the
deep -dyed nrystery of the auto which
hit A. B. Carbajal's wood wagon amid-
ships early Mondaj- morning put the
wagon out of commission and distrib-
uted stove length mesquite chunks
promiscuously over the landscape sur-
rounding Antonio Madrid's "Casa
Blanca" road house on the Ysleta high-
way. Auto number 309. the same being
registered in the name of King Wor-
ley at tlie county courthouse was the
vehicle In which ..he joy ride was
pulled off. A rapia change of owner-
and an equally rap'd dissemination
into scrap steel is the story In brief of
this same innocent auto No. 309. Con-
tractor Worley struck a bargain with
Morrow a carpenter whb formerly
worked for him. The trade was made
Saturday Morrow giving his former
employer $100 m coin in exchange for
a quit claim on said auto No. 309. The
remainder- according to Mr. "Worley
was to have been made in one. two and
three months or at equally convenient
times until the total of $400 had been
paid.
Sunday morning when "Worley went
to his shop at the corner of Park and
Sixth streets he noticed that the auto
was missing. Later he heard that an
accident had occurred on the county
road which involved a car of the same
general description as the one he had
sold Morrow. Upon inquiring about tho
I accident Morrow informed "Worley that
the car had been stolen from him bj'
unknown persons and taken for a joy
ride. Three women and a man are said
to havo been lnthe car when it collided
broadside with. Carbajal's woodwagon
early Monday morning. The keeper of
the "Casa Blanca" did not know them
and Carbajal was too excited to Iden-
tify them. Frank Morse of the Coggin
Anto company in car No. 355 is said
to have gone to the rescue after a
hurryup call had been sent from klad-
rid's wet goods emporium.
Carbajal who is an employe of the
city sanitary department. Is a son of
patrolman Carbajal of the city police
force. The young man was coming to
town to work on the streets Monday
when the accident happened.
