. organ, It was a most graceful offer-
ing.
Highlighting the program was the
• group of songs given by Mrs. Harold
Volk of Dallas, accompanied by
i George Newman, who gave splendid
| support at the piano. Her first num-
| her, “Ave Maria" by Gounod showed
a clear high voice of rich timbre and
the other two songs, “With Verdure
Clad" from The Creation by Haydn
and "Alleula” by Mozart displayed
her gift for coloratura that was ex-
quisitely lovely.
The harp and 'cello duet played by
Miss Virginia Sheridan and Miss
Marjorie Alice Steele respectively was
J a most gracious rendition of Wagner's
! “Oh Thou Sublime Sweet Evening
Star” the arpeggioed chords of the
; harp blendling sweetly with the con-
tralto tones of thq 'cello. It was fol-
lowed by an ensemble of violin, Mr.
Northrop; 'cello, Miss Steele; harp,
Miss Sheridan; and organ, Mr. Wes-
i son,’ who played “Consolation by H.
Mathews. A number of meditative in-
tent, the instruments were a perfect
medium for such expression and the
audience felt the beauty of the com-
position so well played by the group.
The benediction was given by Rev. i
W. A Bowen, and "Allegro Con Moto"
. by Shepherd played by Mrs. Foster
at the organ brought an hour of musi-
cal enjoyment to a close.
