meeting.
Wednesday evening at 7:00 o’clock
we meet for the mid-week prayer
service. It is good to pray, for prayer
to communion and fellowship with
God.
Do not hesitate to urge your fribnds
and visitors to attend the services of
the church with you. Any visitor in
your home will think more of you if
you invite him or her to worship God
in the church.-Whenever you pass up
the church services for a visitor, or
business engagement, the parties in-
volved think little of your love for
God, and you yourself discount your
Christian faith. Come! Worship!

The fellowship and Bible study af-
forded by the Sunday iteipoJ will
prove a blessing and strenj^h to any
life. We all need this additional help.
Meet with us at 9:45- Classes are pro-
vided for all ages.
At 11 a. m. the pastor will speak
on, “The Power That Overcomes",
and at 7:30 his subject will be, “Red
Lights Along Life's Highway."
We shall be glad to have you attend
one of our B. T. U. services. Good pro-
grams, and a place where we can
train ourselves for service.
Frank Dent, Pastor
The story is told about a certain
tramp who went to a minister's door
for food. Seeking to emphasize his re-
ligious qualifications along with his
empty qualifications, he pointed to the
knees of his trousers which were
patched and the patches badly worn
also and said, “I spend a lot of time
praying.” The minister quickly darted
behind his aspiring guest and jerked
up the tail of his ooat and said, “I
see you spend a lot of your time
backsliding, too."
We expebt a sliding and fluctuating
interest in some things Football for
instance, from September to January
our interest slides up and down the |
football scale. Then basketball climbs
into our gymnasiums and we think of
that, and so on through the athletic
seasons of the year. In the spring we
take interest in planting, when fall
comes the harvest season absorbs our
hopes. There are some things which
by virtues of their seasonal emphasis
demand a sliding interest.
Our religious hopes and

Gwan rushed to her with open

Kay turned to them with mock
'severity. "Look at you two! Eat-
ing candy smd smoking! You're
going to be in great shape for
that —that —” she paused and
winked at Felix—“for that opening
night of ’Sweethearts’!”
“Opening night?” cried Gwen.
Felix beamed. “Well open again
on Broadway next week!”
And once agsdn, Broadway blazed
with the brilliance of the season'a
smartest event! The lights from
the theatre marquee proclaimed
the occasion:

Manhattan's smart set in furs,
jewels, top-hats and tails, had
gathered again to pay homage to
Broadway’s darlings.
Behind the footlights, Fred, the
show's Comedian wowed them
again with his riotous dance rou-
tine. The chorus went through Its
paces with a verve greater than
ever before! This was indeed the
season's smartest theatre event!
In the box office Appleby sorted
the bills and coins, his ledgers
open on the desk before him.
"Same as the week we opened,”
he called ecstatically.
Dink sat in a corner hie head
in his hands. What should he do
for a now publicity stunt? Felix
ted ordered hands off Gwen and
Ernest—but he’d think up a way
of changing that order.
In the wings, Hannah, Gwen’s
dresser, and Harry, Ernest's valet
watched the show with gleaming
eyes.

Gwen reached for her handker-

Ernest cleared the lump in his

“We belong wherever you., are,”
Gwen began—then, throwing her

head in his shoulder. "Oh, Felix!”
she wept “You—you awful old

"My kiddles!" Felix sighed and
reached an arm about them both.
"Welcome back home.”
Suddenly the tension cleared and
the three began to laugh Happily.
Gwen reached for a chocolate in

took his pipe and tobacco pouch
from his pocket.
“No you don't!” a voice com-
